Winston-Salem, NC - The Lady Rams fell to 0-6 overall (0-2 CIAA) on Tuesday evening in the last match of a tri-match format volleyball mini-tournament on the campus of Winston-Salem State University.
The Lady Rams, who remain winless on the season with the loss, dropped their second match of the day, but played well against the more powerful Falcons, before falling in three straight games 30-21, 30-22, and 30-22.
Leading the way for the Lady Rams was Riquita Quick (Sr./5'10"/MH/Rockingham, NC) with nine kills and a .500 hitting percentage. Pacing the Falcons was Lauren Plyler (Jr./6'0"/MH/Mooresville, NC) with 13 kills.
The Falcons improve to 5-5 overall (1-1 CVAC) with the victory, while the Lady Rams remain winless. WSSU is scheduled to return to action this weekend at the CIAA round-up in
Fayetteville, NC. However, due to Hurricane Isabel, and its scheduled effects on the state of North Carolina, the future of this weekend's CIAA Volleyball Round-Up is in question.
