Winston-Salem, NC - It was not in the cards for the Lady Rams volleyball team on Saturday morning as they looked to avenge Friday's loss to Barton College in Lady Rams Volleyball Invitational competition.
The Lady Rams and Lady Bulldogs battled on Friday with Barton College earning the 3-0 victory. The Lady Rams would be seeded #3 and Barton #2 to set up yet another meeting between the two teams.
Looking for revenge, the Lady Rams came out strong in game one, but fell off in game two and three, dropping three straight games and the match in 1:22.
With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 1-8 overall, and remain 1-2 in the CIAA. The Lady Bulldogs would eventually go on to win the 2003 Lady Ram Invitational, the first time in the 3-year history of the event that the Lady Rams did not win the title.
The Lady Rams will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Columbia, SC to take on Benedict. Game time is slated for 6:00 pm.
