Fayetteville, NC - The second day of the 2003 CIAA Volleyball Round Up has come to a close, and the Lady Rams of Winston-Salem State University still have a flawless record of 4-0 thus far.
The Lady Rams improve to 6-11 overall and 6-3 in the CIAA as they handed the Trojanettes of Virginia State University a 3-0 match loss. The Lady Rams posted scores of 30-23; 30-24; and 30-22 en route to the match victory.
Leading the way for the Lady Rams, as they have all weekend, were 2002 First-Team All-CIAA selection Ebony Douglas (Jr./5'9"/OH/Raleigh, NC) and Chasity Clark (Jr./5'9"/OH/Winston-Salem, NC) with five and four kills respectively.
The game, marred by ball handling errors by both teams, saw the more defensively sound Lady Rams prevail and improve to a flawless 4-0 over the last 36 hours of play.
The Lady Rams will look to close out the 2003 CIAA Volleyball Round-Up with a perfect 5-0 record as they take on St. Paul's College at 3:00 pm on Sunday afternoon.
