Kutztown, PA - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams volleyball team saw their six-match win streak come to an end on Friday and Saturday at the 2003 Kutztown University Volleyball Tournament.
The Lady Rams, played and lost three straight matches in straight games as they fell to 7-15 overall and remained 7-4 in the CIAA. It was the combination of a long road trip, and first-rate opponents, as well as the overall mediocre performance that sealed the Lady Rams' fate.
The first match up saw the Lady Rams face tournament host Kutztown. Unfortunately, the home team came out of the locker room flying high, and the Lady Rams fell 3-0. The loss would round out the action for the Lady Rams on Friday.
Saturday saw the Lady Rams face both Southampton and South New Hampshire University with the same result. The Lady Rams lost both matches 3-0.
Winston-Salem State is in action again on October 21st, 2003 in Durham, NC as they will travel to face arch nemesis, and CIAA power, North Carolina Central University. The first serve is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
