Raleigh, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' volleyball team used a very good effort, but fell to the St. Augustine's College Lady Falcons by the score of 3-0 on Monday evening in Raleigh, NC in CIAA volleyball action.
The Lady Rams, who fall to 10-17 overall and 9-6 in the CIAA, faltered a bit in the first game, eventually dropping a 30-14 decision, but were able to bounce back and compete in the next two well-played games, losing 30-16 and 31-29.
The Falcons, a national powerhouse in volleyball, used their size advantage and the play of 2002 CIAA Volleyball Player of the Year Magaly Gomez to dispatch the feisty Lady Rams and improve to 18-3 overall and 14-0 in the CIAA.
WSSU was led by Chasity Clark (Jr./5'9"/OH/Winston-Salem, NC) who recorded a team high seven kills.
The Lady Rams will return to action when they host Johnson C. Smith on November 10th, 2003 to close out the 2003 regular season.
