WILMINGTON, NC - South Carolina State University was able to narrowly sneak by the Lady Rams' volleyball team on Saturday morning in third-match action from the 2006 UNC-Wilmington "Battle At The Beach" Volleyball Tournament in Wilmington, NC as the Lady Bulldogs earned a three-game victory with no game being decided by more than seven points (30-24, 30-28, 30-23).
Playing their third match at the Division I level, the Lady Rams played a very close match with SCSU, a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference women's volleyball power, losing in three games to fall to 0-3 on the season.
WSSU was led by Kendall Sutton who tallied a team-high six kills in the match. SCSU was led by Laura Waters-Brown who recorded a match-high nine kills in the contest. WSSU had five players tally at least a trio of kills in the match before falling in defeat.

With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 0-3 on the year. WSSU returns to the court at 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon as they face the University of North Carolina-Greensboro in their final match of the weekend.
