Final Stats

Wilmington, NC - The Lady Spartans of the University of North Carolina-Greensboro defeated the Lady Rams of Winston-Salem State University by the score of 3-0 (30-20, 30-26, 30-11) in WSSU's final game of competition at the 2006 UNC-Wilmington "Battle At The Beach" Volleyball Tournament on Saturday evening in Wilmington, NC.

The Lady Rams were led by Ciera Simpson who tallied seven kills in the loss.  UNC-Greensboro was led by Catherine Hanners who tallied a match-high 12 kills.  She was joined by Branagan Fuller who recorded 11 kills in the victory.

With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 0-4 on the season while the Lady Spartans improve to 3-0 overall.

WSSU's Valentina Pushkina was named to the "Battle At The Beach" All-Tournament Team for her performance in the Lady Rams' four matches.

WSSU returns to action on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 6:00 pm as they travel to Greensboro, NC to face the Aggies of North Carolina A&T State University.
