HAMPTON, VA - North Carolina Central University's women's volleyball team showed exactly why they are among the nation's best Division II teams on Saturday afternoon as they defeated the Lady Rams of Winston-Salem State University by the score of 3-1 (28-30, 30-12, 30-14, 30-9) in the final match of the 2006 Lady Pirate Labor Day Volleyball Invitational.
Despite remaining winless at 0-9 on the season with the loss, the Lady Rams earned their first game-victory of the season as they defeated NCCU 30-28 in the first game of the match. However, the Lady Eagles swept three consecutive games to register the match victory.
