Lady Rams Will Head To The Second Week Of The Season Looking For Their First Win

Hampton, VA - The Winston-Salem State University's women's volleyball team finished their playing action from the 2005 Hampton Lady Pirate Labor Day Volleyball Classic with a loss to Southern University by the score of 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Rams looked impressive in the first game of the match as they earned a 30-26 win to pull ahead 1-0 in the match.

However, the Lady Jaguars rallied to earn three straight game victories by the scores of 30-21, 30-20 and 30-27 to steal the win and hand the Lady Rams of Winston-Salem State their fourth consecutive loss.

The defeat drops WSSU to 0-4 on the season (0-0 CIAA) while Southern moves their record to 2-2 with the win.

WSSU will return to action versus Catawba College at 6:00 pm on Tuesday evening, September 6^th, 2005 as they travel to Salisbury, NC to face the Lady Indians in a non-conference volleyball match-up.
