Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams volleyball team dropped their fifth consecutive match on Monday evening as they fell in defeat in three straight games at the hands of Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC.
The match saw the Lady Rams facing their fifth different opponent in four days and saw a travel-weary WSSU team come out flat against the host-team and fall in three straight games by the scores of 30-16, 30-21, and 31-29.
The Lady Rams started slowly in the match but improved as the match went on, eventually forcing Pfeiffer to seal the match with an extra-point victory.
The Lady Rams were led by senior Chasity Clark (Sr./OH/Winston-Salem, NC) and junior Kyra Pridgen (Jr./OH/Wilmington, NC) who continued to display their offensive firepower and show why they have both earned All-CIAA honors sometime in their careers.
With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 1-5 on the season and will return to action at 6:00 pm on September 9th, 2004 when they travel to Fayetteville, NC to face CIAA-rival Fayetteville State University in their opening match of CIAA league play.
