WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (3-4, 3-0 CIAA) kept their momentum going when the team took a three-set win over the Virginia Union Panthers, Saturday afternoon. The Lady Rams controlled every set of the match, taking three straight set wins, 26-24, 25-13, and 25-13.
As a team, the Lady Rams totaled 35 kills with only 15 errors in the match. Senior hitter Ashley Harris continued to lead the Lady Rams as she totaled 16 kills on with only two attack errors in the match. Redshirt-sophomore Kameryn Craig added a team-best four service aces in the win as well.
The first set proved to be the toughest for the Lady Rams as the team battled to a 26-24 win. After taking a four-point lead late in the set, 21-17, the Lady Rams allowed the Trojans to battle their way back into the set, tying the set 24-24. However, the Lady Rams were able to answer the call with back-to-back scores. Sophomore Lindsey Wilborn sealed the win with a service ace.
The final two sets saw the Lady Rams turn up their efforts as the team posted a pair of 25-13 wins to take the match win.
