ORANGEBURG, SC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams volleyball team earned their second win of the 2006 season on Friday evening as they defeated Savannah State University 3-2 (30-28, 30-26, 20-30, 25-30, 15-12) in first-round action from the South Carolina State University Spikefest Volleyball Tournament in Orangeburg, SC.
The Lady Rams broke a two-match losing streak as they won their second match of the season by defeating the Lady Tigers.
The Lady Rams jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the match as they cruised to wins in the first two games by the score of 30-28 and 30-26 respectively. To

WSSU jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the game and never looked back as they earned a 15-12 win, securing the match in the process.
With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 2-11 on the season. WSSU returns to action on Saturday morning at 10:00 am as they face the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's Hampton University Lady Pirates in second-round action.
