WINSTON-SALEM, NC - A low offensive output proved costly to the Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (1-10), Thursday evening with the team taking a 3-0 loss to the Norfolk State Lady Spartans (2-12). The Lady Rams battled early in the match, but wore down over the course of the match, falling by scores of 27-30, 20-30, and 14-30.
The Lady Rams struggled to find offense with 25 total team kills, 19 attack errors, and 11 service errors in the match. WSSU freshman hitter Ashley Harris led the way with five kills. Twelve receiving errors made matters worse for the Lady Rams. Junior Valentina Pushkina coordinated the WSSU attack with 20 assists and a service ace in the match.
