WSSU Volleyball Defeats Livingstone In Game One Of Lady Ram Invitational

Final Stats

Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University women's volleyball team won their third consecutive match of the season on Friday afternoon to improve to 5-13 overall as they defeated the Livingstone College Lady Blue Bears by the score of 3-0 in first-round action from the 2005 Lady Ram Invitational Volleyball Tournament in Winston-Salem, NC.

 

WSSU, who was looking for their first three-match win streak of the season easily swept the short-staffed Lady Blue Bears by the score of 3-0 (30-25,30-21,30-21) to advance to face the Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State University in Friday's second round.

 

WSSU was led by Kyra Pridgen (Sr./Wilmington, NC) who tallied nine kills in the match. Freshman Valentina Pushkina (Fr./Moscow, Russia) recorded a match-high 24 assists as she helped the Lady Rams to victory.


 

 

 

With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 5-13 overall on the season and move on to face the Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State University at 2:00 pm in second-round action of the 2005 Lady Ram Invitational Volleyball Tournament.
