Final Stats
WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams volleyball team fell in defeat in the final match of day one of the 2006 WSSU Lady Rams Volleyball Invitational as South Carolina State University handed WSSU a 3-1 match loss.
WSSU fell in defeat 31-29 in the first game of the match and lost a heartbreaker 36-34 in the second game of the match to put themselves in a hole, down two games to none.
However, the Lady Rams, without a senior on the roster, showed the resilience of a veteran team by winning the third game 30-27 to stave off elimination.
It was not meant to be as the Lady Rams saw South Carolina State rebound from a 19-8 deficit in the fourth game to earn the win, 30-19, securing the match victory.
With the win South Carolina State improves to 5-6 overall while the Lady Rams fall to 2-15 on the season. The Lady Bulldogs return to action at 11:00 am as they face the Norfolk State University Lady Spartans. WSSU will return to the court at 9:00 am when they face North Carolina Central University.
