Final Stats

Winston-Salem, NC - The Lady Rams' win streak stopped at five consecutive games on Saturday afternoon as they fell in defeat to Paine College 3-0 in the championship game of the 2005 Lady Ram Volleyball Invitational from the C.E. Gaines Center on the campus of Winston-Salem State University.

WSSU dropped three straight games and the match to the undefeated Lady Lions as they were swept 30-19, 30-22, 30-26 en route to their tournament runner-up finish.

The Lady Lions, who improve to 15-0 overall with the win, earn their first Lady Ram Invitational Tournament championship.  The Lady Rams fall to 7-14 overall with the loss.

WSSU was led by Brandi Beane who recorded six kills in the match.  Paine College was led by Tournament MVP Kisha Lucette who recorded 10 kills in the victory.

WSSU placed Kyra Pridgen and Valentina Pushkina on the All-Tournament team as both turned in stellar performances over the course of the weekend.

WSSU returns to action on September 27^th, 2005 at 6:00 pm when they travel to Salisbury, NC to face the Lady Blue Bears of Livingstone College in CIAA league play.
