Final Stats

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' volleyball team was swept by Providence College at the C.E. Gaines Center in Winston-Salem, NC on Thursday evening 3-0 (30-16, 30-27, 33-31) to fall to 3-13 on the season.

 

The Lady Rams dropped the first game of the match by a score of 30-16 before responding offensively in the second and third games of the match, a pair of games that they dropped by a combined five points as they succumbed to their 13th defeat of the 2007 season.

 

Providence College posted a .786 attack percentage before cooling off offensively, dropping to an average .336 attack percentage over the final two games of the match.

 


 

 

Conversely, the Lady Rams opened play with a .048 attack percentage before responding with an average attack percentage just under .200 over the match's final two games.

 

The Lady Rams were led by Annika Barnwell's nine kills in the loss.  Providence College was led by Elizabeth Flynn's 13 kills in the win.

 

The loss drops the Lady Rams to 3-13 overall while the Friars improve to 10-6 overall with the win.

 

WSSU returns to action on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 6:00 as they face the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman University at the C.E. Gaines Center in Winston-Salem, NC.
