WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' volleyball team dropped a heartbreaker at Whitaker Gymnasium in Winston-Salem, NC on Thursday evening as they fell in defeat to the Hampton University Lady Pirates by the score of 3-2 (30-23, 20-30, 30-32, 30-26, 11-15) in a match that took two hours and 13 minutes to complete.
The Lady Rams earned a 30-23 victory in game one of the match as WSSU looked to control the match in the early-going.
However, the Lady Pirates earned wins in the second and third games before WSSU evened the match at two games each following a 30-26 win in the match's fourth game.
Unfortunately for the several-hundred Ram fans in attendance, the Lady Pirates secured the match victory following a 15-11 win in the fifth, and deciding game.

WSSU was led by Jasmine Watkins who turned in a 13-kill performance in the loss. Watkins was joined in double-figures by Brandi Beane who tallied 10 kills in the effort.
The loss drops the Lady Rams to 2-21 on the season while
