Augusta, GA - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' volleyball team were handed their 14th loss of the 2004 season on Friday evening as they dropped a 3-1 decision to the host team Paine College Lady Tigers in the second round of the Paine College Volleyball Invitational Tournament in Augusta, GA.
The Lady Rams, who were coming off of a win over Benedict College, dropped the first game of the match 27-30 and fell to 0-2 in the match after dropping the second game 26-30.
The third game was witness to an offensive domination by the Lady Rams as they recorded a 30-23 win to cut the deficit to one game. However, the Lady Rams ran out of gas in the final game of the match 25-30.
The loss drops the Lady Rams to 8-14 overall (6-5 in the CIAA). WSSU returns to action Saturday morning as they take on Fort Valley State University.
