Augusta, GA - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to the Lady Wildcats of Fort Valley State University in the second day of competition in the Paine College Volleyball Invitational Tournament on Saturday morning.
The Lady Rams won the first game of the match by the score of 30-10, but dropped the second 28-30 as the Lady Wildcats tied the contest. However, the Lady Rams lost more the game as offensive superstar and All-CIAA performer Chasity Clark (Sr./Winston-Salem, NC) went down with an injury near the end of the second game and did not return for the final two games of the match.
Without Clark, the Lady Rams were promptly handed two more losses by the score of 17-30 and 25-30 respectively to fall to 8-15 on the season (6-5 CIAA). However, a bright spot on the afternoon was the fact that the Lady Rams' earned an All-Tournament selection as freshman Cherena Douglass garnered the honor.
