WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (4-17) took a tough 3-0 loss to the local rival North Carolina A&T Aggies (3-21, 1-2 MEAC), Tuesday evening. Though the Lady Rams were aggressive in the match, the team was stifled, falling 18-30, 25-30, and 17-30 in the match.
As a team, the Lady Rams recorded 112 attacks in the match, but with 48 Aggie digs and seven NCAT blocks, the Aggies took away nearly 50% of the WSSU attack offense. Sophomore hitter Annika Barnwell led the way for the Lady Rams with 11 kills in the match. Junior Brandie Beane added nine kills with just a pair of errors in the loss.
The loss capped an 11-match home stretch for the Lady Rams that saw the team record a 3-8 record during the span. The Lady Rams will return to action on the road when the team heads to
