WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The North Carolina A&T State University Aggies defeated the Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams volleyball team 3-1 (30-22, 28-30, 30-13, 30-16) on Tuesday evening at the CE Gaines Center in Winston-Salem, NC in non-conference volleyball action.
Despite trailing midway through the first game of the match, the Aggies rebounded and snuck out a 30-22 win to open up a one-game lead on the host team Lady Rams.
WSSU showed poise as they earned a hard-fought 30-28 win in the second game of the match to even the contest at one game each.
Not indicative of the Lady Rams' effort, the Aggies mounted an offensive charge and secured the match victory with back-to-back wins in games three and four to ultimately earn the win.

Leading the way for the victorious Aggies was Arlene Mitchell who recorded a match-high 22 kills in the win. She was joined by Aundia Gray (11 kills), Brenden Chatman (11 kills) and Tiffany Mellete (10 kills), all of whom tallied double-digit kills. The Lady Rams were led by Ciera Simpson who tallied eight kills in the losing effort.
The loss drops WSSU to 2-26 on the season while NC A&T improves to 13-9 overall with the victory.
