Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams volleyball team was handed a heartbreaking 3-1 volleyball loss by the visiting Lady Broncos of Fayetteville State University on Tuesday evening in Whitaker Gymnasium on the campus of Winston-Salem State University by the scores of 30-25, 29-31, 29-31, and 26-30.
The Lady Rams started the match by winning the first game 30-25 before faltering in games two and three and losing both in extra-play by the score of 31-29.
WSSU looked like they would come back and tie the game at 2-2 in the fourth game but a rejuvenated FSU offensive attack proved to be too much for the Lady Rams to handle and the home team fell in defeat 26-30.
With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 10-18 overall and one game under .500 in the CIAA at 7-8.
WSSU returns to action on October 28th as they travel to Columbia, SC to face off against Benedict College in a non-conference volleyball match at 6:00 pm.
