Columbia, SC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' volleyball team fell in defeat at the hands of Benedict College on Thursday evening in non-conference volleyball action 3-1 (21-30, 24-30, 30-28, 27-30) in Columbia, SC to fall to 10-19 overall (7-8 CIAA) on the season.
The Lady Rams dropped the first two games of the match before awakening in the third to steal a victory from the home team by the score of 30-28 as they looked to be making a move towards a comeback.
However, the host team put an end to any Lady Ram victory thoughts as they closed out the match with a 30-27 win in the final game.
WSSU was led by Chasity Clark who recorded nine kills in the contest in a losing effort.
WSSU returns to action on November 2nd, 2004 at 6:00 pm as they will play host to the Lady Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University in Whitaker Gymnasium. The contest, one that was supposed to be played in Charlotte, NC but was moved to Winston-Salem, NC because of gym availability, will mark the end of the 2004 regular season.
