Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams volleyball team closed out the 2004 regular-season with a 3-0 (30-17, 30-17, 30-27) victory over the Lady Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University in CIAA Western Division volleyball action on Tuesday evening at Whitaker Gymnasium in Winston-Salem, NC.
The victory was a bittersweet one for the Lady Rams as they witnessed outside hitter Chasity Clark (Sr./Winston-Salem, NC) play in the final home game of her WSSU volleyball career. Playing with an emotional fire, the four-time All-CIAA performer led the Lady Rams to an easy victory.
Victory came easily for the Lady Rams as they assured themselves of a #3 seed in Friday's opening round of the 2004 CIAA Volleyball Championship tournament. WSSU, who finishes the regular season with an 11-19 record (8-8 CIAA) will face off against the #2 seed in the Eastern Division, the Virginia State Lady Trojans at 9:00 am from the Walker Complex on the campus of North Carolina Central University.
