WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (30-26, 30-21, 30-23) decision to the Bison of Howard University at the C.E. Gaines Center in Winston-Salem, NC on Friday evening to fall to 2-28 on the season.
WSSU dropped the first game of the match by the score of 30-26 before falling 30-21 in the second game of the match as it looked as though the Bisons' nearly errorless play would prove to be the home team's undoing.
The Lady Rams promptly responded in the third game, opening up a six-point lead midway through the match as it appeared that WSSU would avoid their fourth consecutive sweep.

The Lady Rams were led by Ciera Simpso's team-high eight kills in the match. She was joined by Valentina Pushkina who recorded eight kills and a team-high 24 assists.
Howard was led by Janel James' match-high 15 kills as she and Morgan Maxwell (12 kills) each recorded double-digit kills in the win.
