WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams volleyball team closed out the 2006 season with a loss to the Bison of Howard on Sunday afternoon in Washington, D.C., as WSSU fell in defeat by the score of 3-0 (30-17, 30-24, 30-16) at Burr Gymnasium.
The Lady Rams dropped the first game of the match 30-17 before mounting a stiff challenge in the second game, ultimately falling behind two games to none after a disheartening 30-24 game two loss.
The third game of the match would again go in favor of the Bison as they secured their three games to none sweep of the Lady Rams.
WSSU was led by Valentina Pushkina's 7 kills and 14 assists as she led the Lady Rams in both categories. Howard was led by Morgan Maxwell's 18 kill performance.

With the loss, the Lady Rams close out the season with a 2-32 record overall. The Bison improve to 9-18 with the win.
