Hampton, VA - Winston-Salem State University volleyball player Valentina Pushkina (Moscow, Russia) was named to the CIAA All-Rookie Volleyball Team as announced by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association on Wednesday afternoon.

Pushkina, a 5'10", freshman utility player from Moscow, Russia led the Lady Rams in assists in 2005 as she served up 326 of them to her teammates over the span of 96 games.  In addition to leading WSSU in assists she placed second on the team with 146 kills en route to a hitting percentage of .185, good enough for second place on the WSSU volleyball team.  The art major is a 2005 graduate of #500 high school in Moscow, Russia and was a member of a pair of teams that captured Russian Junior National Championships.
