BOONE, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams cross country stepped up their efforts against some top-tier competition, Friday when the team competed in the Blue Ridge Open Cross Country Meet hosted by Appalachian State. The Lady Rams headed up into the mountains to compete against a stellar field of competition that included nine NCAA Division I teams and some of the top NCAA Division II teams in the state.[read more]

Still, Winston-Salem State junior Danisha Wiggins has proven to be up for all of the challenges that come with being a good distance runner. The Lady Rams finished the meet with 76 total points to place third at the meet while the Rams placed 10th with 228 points.

The Lady Rams took first place in the meet after posting four of the top five finishes in the women’s 5K run.
