Personal: The 2005-06 academic year will mark Morgan's first as the leader of the Rams and Lady Rams' cross-country and track and field programs. Morgan is the first head coach of the track and field programs in over five years as WSSU disbanded the program from 2001-2005. He will serve dual roles as the head of both the men's and women's cross-country teams and interim head coach of the men's and women's track and field teams. Morgan comes to Winston-Salem State after spending last season as the Assistant Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Campbell University (NCAA Division I). Prior to his season at Campbell, he spent four years at Southeast Raleigh High School in Raleigh, NC where he served as the Head Coach of the boys and girls cross-country teams. Morgan led Southeast Raleigh High School's boy's track team to the 2004 4-A State Track and Field Championship while the women's team, under the guidance of Morgan, placed in the top three at the State Championships three out of four seasons. In cross-country, the girl's were two-time Triangle Athletic Association Conference (TAAC) runner-ups and two-time champions and had three teams make state appearances. He has significant success in coaching both the cross-country and track and field teams and has coached both male and female athletes with a plethora of success. A 1995 graduate of Indiana State University where he served as the Sycamore's Student Assistant Manager, Morgan brings with him 14 seasons of track and field and cross-country coaching experience. He has coached at every level, having coached several high school programs as well as serving on the coaching staff in various capacities at both the NAIA, NCAA Division II, and NCAA Division I levels.
