Final Stats

LUMBERTON, N.C. - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' cross-country team finished fifth in the in the 5k run with an average team time of 23:29.98 at the UNCP Cross Country Invitational at Luther Britt Park in Lumberton, NC on Saturday afternoon.  WSSU's Irene Jeptolo finished second overall with a time of 19:45.19 as she looks to continue to reinforce her selection as the Southeast Region Female Cross-Country Athlete of the Year award she garnered in 2005.

The meet was the 22nd annual for the women's. North Carolina Central took home first place on the women's side as NCCU's Yolanda Barber took home first place honors in the 5k. St. Augustine's College captured the men's first place team honor as Isrreal Jaimes, Omar Wiggan, and Edgar Bermudez finished first, second, and third respectively in the 8k for St. Augustine's.

WSSU's Tomita Ferguson placed 20th overall with a time of
23:03.72  and the Lady Rams' Sandy Harrison finished 23rd, posting a mark of 23:33.25.
