PLEASANT GARDEN, NC - Winston-Salem State University women's cross country runner Irene Jeptolo broke her own school record on Saturday afternoon as the Lady Rams earned an eighth place finish in the Division I, University category at Saturday's Greensboro Cross Country Invitational at Hagan Stone Park in Pleasant Garden, NC.
Jeptolo earned a fourth place individual finish as she completed the 5k course in 18:49.6 en route to shattering her own school record. Jeptolo finished only nine seconds off the lead as
"Irene continues to impress us as she is a tireless worker who is running better every single day. She will only continue to improve as she shows that she is one of the most dominant runners in the country. She broke her own school record today, and I couldn't be more proud of her." WSSU head cross country coach Halcyon Blake stated.
