Jeptolo Caps Season with First Place Finish at Erskine Invitational - WINSTON-SALEM STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

DUE WEST, SC - Winston-Salem State junior Irene Jeptolo kept up her winning ways when she took first place at the Erskine Invitational Thursday afternoon. With the first place finish Jeptolo capped a fantastic 2007 season in which the junior won four of six races and placed in the top ten in each race of the season.

Jeptolo finished the 5K event in a time of 19:12 to lead the Lady Rams to a third place finish. As a team, the Lady Rams posted 99 points in the race, placing third behind Wingate and North Georgia. Freshman Ariel Armstrong had the second best finish for the Lady Rams with a time of 22:01 and a 16^th place finish. Junior Tomita Ferguson had the third best finish for the Lady Rams with a time of 22:32 and a 22^nd place finish.

The race was the final one of the season for the Lady Rams and caps a very successful season for the team that saw some historic performances by the experienced Jeptolo and the young Armstrong. The Lady Rams will go on to prepare for the upcoming indoor track & field season.
