Final Stats

DURHAM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University women's cross country team earned a first-place team finish at the North Carolina Central University Cross Country Invitational on Saturday afternoon as Irene Jeptolo earned another individual championship.

Jeptolo led all fifteen participants as she completed the five kilometer course in 19:22.59, besting her nearest competitor by nearly one minute and 25 seconds.

Tomita Ferguson earned fifth-place individual honors with a time of 22:10.16 and Sandy Harrison recorded a sixth-place finish as she completed the course in 22:28.30.

The three top-10 finishes for WSSU led to the Lady Rams' easy victory as they earned only 15 points while North Carolina Central University recorded 40 points en route to runner-up honors.
