Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University women's volleyball team and both of the WSSU cross-country teams will host their first home contests of the 2003 fall season on Wednesday, September 10th, 2003.

The volleyball team (0-3 overall, 0-0 CIAA) will look to avenge a winless weekend as they host arch CIAA volleyball rival Fayetteville State University. The Lady Rams split the regular season series with the Lady Broncos in 2002, and the two teams, once again, look to be very evenly matched. Both teams will take the court at 5:00 pm for warm-ups with the opening serve slated for 6:00 pm. The match, between the top two volleyball teams in the CIAA Western Division is sure to have serious post-season implications despite the meeting coming so early in the season.

The Volleyball team is not the only WSSU athletic team in action on Wednesday as the men's and women's cross country teams (0-0, 0-0 CIAA) will open up their season at home as they face Johnson C. Smith University. The course will start and finish at Civitan Park adjacent to Bowman-Gray Stadium with the starting gun scheduled to go off at 3:00 pm.

Both events are free and open to the public. Come out and support your WSSU Athletic teams.
