GREENSBORO, NC - The Winston-Salem State Cross Country teams won't have far to travel this weekend when the Rams and Lady Rams take part in the 26th Annual Greensboro XC Invitational at Hagan Stone Park in nearby Greensboro, N.C. After some great efforts this season, the young Rams and Lady Rams will look to keep things going when they compete against over 25 collegiate teams.
The Rams and Lady Rams have gotten off to a great start this season as the freshman duo of Andrew Chebii and Tyrah Winfrey have led the charge for the Rams and Lady Rams respectively with some great performances this season. Through the first three races of the season, Chebii has posted three top five finishes, including a win at the Salem College Invitational while Winfrey has been the top finisher for the Lady Rams in all three meets with a win in the Salem College Invitational.
Collegiate competition at the meet is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start with the women's 5K while the men's 8K is scheduled for a 1:45 p.m. start. The event, hosted by the Greensboro Pacesetters, will also feature high school competition which is scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m.
