Mount Olive jumped out first as Bardon Reitano homered in the top of the first inning to give the Trojans an early lead, but the Rams came right back in the bottom half of the inning, as Leland Clemmons tripled to right center, followed by an rbi double by Ray Crawford to tie the game at 1-1.

Mount Olive broke the game open in the third inning, as two WSSU errors led to a six-run inning, as the Rams fell behind 7-1. The Trojans scored two more runs in the fourth, before the Rams started to chip away at the lead.

The Rams would come back in the bottom half of the fourth with two runs of their own, as an Alex Grubb single would plate Levi Grassley and Chris cane to cut the lead to 9-3.

Jacob Barber would pull the Rams closer with a solo home run to deep left field in the sixth inning, and Ray Crawford would bring home Levi Grassley in the bottom of the seventh on a sacrifice fly, but he Rams could get no closer.

Jordan Carlton (0-1) picked up the loss for the Rams, while Alex Regan (1-0) got the win for the Trojans.

WSSU did out hit Mount Olive, 13-12, but he three errors were costly for the Rams in the loss.

For the Rams, Leland Clemmons went two for three with two runs scored and a triple, while Chris Kane finished going two for four with a run scored, as did Jacob Barber. Barber also picked up a rbi on a solo home run. Ray Crawford went one for four with two runs batted in and a double, and Alex Grubb went one for four with two rbi's. Rafael Gonzalez went two for five in the contest and Levi Grassley went one for five with a run scored. Conner Andrus and Gavin Culler each had one hit.



For the second straight game the WSSU Rams fell behind early as the Mount Olive Trojans plated two first inning runs to put the Rams back on their heels early.

But he Rams were able to get on the board in the bottom of the third inning as Leland Clemmons field out to left field, but Conner Andrus was able to score on the sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 2-1.

That would be the closest the Rams would get as the Trojans would score one run in the sixth and one in the eighth inning to sweep the double header, 4-1.

Winston-Salem State had plenty of chances in the game, but could not come up with the big hit when needed. Their best chance came in the bottom of the seventh when the Rams had bases loaded, but a pop out of Rafael Gonzalez ended the inning.

For the Rams, Ray Crawford, Rafael Gonzalez, Levi Grassley, Jacob Barber, Conner Andrus and Colby Keane each had a hit, with Andrus scoring the lone run for WSSU. Leland Clemmons picked up the only rbi for the Rams.

Brody McDonald (1-0) picked up the win for Mount Olive, while although he pitched well, Wesley Halsabeck (0-1) picked up the loss for Winston-Salem State. Halsabeck went six inning allowing two earned runs, while striking out nine.

These two teams will wrap up the series on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at BB&T Ballpark in downtown Winston-Salem, N.C.
