WSSU Athletics To Host NASCAR Drive For Diversity Combine For Second Straight Year

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The NASCAR Drive for Diversity Crew Member Development program in  association with the Winston-Salem State University Department of Athletics will hold a combine for male and female athletes to try out for positions for possible careers as a NASCAR pit crew member.

The combine will be held in the CE Gaines Center on Thursday, April 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The athletes will be put through speed and agility testing, as well as basic pit crew testing. Only 20 try-outs slots are available. Athletes are asked to wear a tshirt, shorts and fitness (gym) shoes.

Ricky Rozier, former WSSU football player, participated in  the combine last year, and is now on the pit crew for Kurt Busch on the NASCAR Spring Cup Series.
