Skinner Named to Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Super Region 2 Team CLEVELAND, OH – For the second season in a row, Winston-Salem State senior free safety Daryus Skinner was selected to the 2019 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) All-Super Region 2 Team. Shaw Named to CIAA All-Rookie Team CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams brought home another honor when redshirt-freshman offensive lineman Jaelin Shaw was named to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Rookie Team, Monday afternoon. Rams Close Season with a 31-17 Loss to Fayetteville State WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-6, 3-4 CIAA) looked to close the season with a bang, but some second half struggles proved costly in a 31-17 loss to the Fayetteville State Broncos (8-2, 6-1 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. Rams Shut Out in a 21-0 Homecoming Loss to Shaw Bears WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-5, 3-3 CIAA) gave a tremendous effort, but it was not enough when the team took a 21-0 loss to the Shaw Bears (5-4, 4-2 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. The Rams gave it their all in the game, but the team could not find answers for a Shaw team that seemed to be a bit more motivated on the day. Full Story
Rams Defense Clamps Down for a 21-0 Win at Livingstone SALISBURY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-4, 3-2) used a dominating defensive performance to claim a 21-0 road win over the Livingstone Blue Bears (4-4, 1-4 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. The Rams took the win behind a WSSU defense that saw the team force four Blue Bear turnovers and claimed their first shutout win of the season. Full Story
Former Rams Great Richard Huntley A Finalist for Black College Football Hall of Fame ATLANTA, GA – Former Winston-Salem State running back Richard Huntley moved one step closer to a prestigious honor as he was selected as one of the 26 finalists for the Black College Football Hall of Fame, Thursday morning. Allen, Graves Named CIAA Football Players of the Week CHARLOTTE, NC – The honors just keep coming in for the Winston-Salem State Rams as sophomore linebacker Kalen Allen and sophomore offensive lineman Kendyl Graves were both named Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Football Players of the Week. Allen was honored as the CIAA Linebacker of the Week while Graves was named the CIAA Offensive Lineman of the Week. The honors came in after the Rams’ most impressive overall performance of the season in a 31-10 win over the Saint Augustine’s Falcons. Full Story
Flowers Named CIAA Defensive Back of the Week CHARLOTTE, NC – Winston-Salem State senior defensive back Joshua Flowers capped a tremendous performance when he was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Defensive Back of the Week. He took home the honor after playing the best game of his career in leading the Rams to a 23-7 win over the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls, Saturday. Full Story
