Rams Football Vs. Coastal Carolina To Be "Take A Kid To The Game Day"

Sept. 27, 2006

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Saturday's Winston-Salem State University football game versus Coastal Carolina University will be "Take A Kid to the Game (TAKG)" day at Bowman Gray Stadium.  For every paying adult, two children, ages 12 and under, will be admitted at no cost.

NCAA Football TAKG is a national grassroots program designed to encourage adults to take children to an NCAA Football game.  Entering its ninth year, the NCAA Football "Take A Kid to the Game" program is pleased to have Coca-Cola as its presenting sponsor.  With Coca-Cola's generous support, over 200 institutions from every NCAA division will be hosting a TAKG day this year.  Since its inception, this program has been a huge success and has allowed thousands of children to experience NCAA Football.

WSSU has been a participating NCAA member institution for the last six seasons and for the second consecutive year, WSSU Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions, Lori Dobbins, has directed the Rams' effort.

"For the second year in a row, we have partnered with local and area middle schools, community centers and churches to increase awareness of this valuable program.  It is a unique opportunity for the WSSU Department of Athletics to give back to the community while at the same time cultivate our next generation of students and supporters.

Kickoff for the Rams vs. Chanticleers game is slated for 6:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.  For additional information on ticketing, call the WSSU Ticket Office at (336) 750-3220.
