HAMPTON, VA - Winston-Salem State University freshman wide receiver Tehvyn Brantley was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Offensive Rookie of the Year, Tuesday afternoon, following a stellar freshman season that saw him rank fourth in the conference in total receiving yards and fifth in receptions per game.
Brantley made an immediate impact on the Rams as a true freshman with 38 receptions for 608 yards and five touchdowns. His caught a season-high eight catches twice during his career, including a 143-yard performance at Johnson C. Smith. He caught six passes for 166 yards at North Carolina Central to lead the Rams to a 34-27 win at North Carolina Central, the team's second win over an NCAA Division I opponent of the season. He caught two touchdown passes in the game as well.
