CHARLOTTE, NC – Winston-Salem State senior forward Brionna Pate was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Monday afternoon. She got the honor after a pair of great performances in both games this week.
Pate put up some big numbers for the Rams this week. She scored a team-high 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Rams to an 82-65 win over the Shaw Lady Bears. She also added another double-double when she scored 16 points with 16 rebounds at Fayetteville State in a heartbreaking 56-51 loss.
The reigning player of the week won't have much time to relax as she and the Rams will return to action, Wednesday evening when the team heads to Charlotte, N.C. to take on the Johnson C.
