WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams (23-7, 23-7 CIAA) closed the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division meet with some strong performances en route to a 3-2 record in Baker games play at the event. With the effort, the Lady Rams finish the three-day meet with a 10-5 record, including a 7-3 record in team match play, combined with today's Baker games record. With the effort, the Lady Rams finished third in the CIAA Southern Division in the event.
The day turned out to be a roller coaster for the Lady Rams who opened the day with a win over Shaw, but followed with a tough loss to Saint Augustine's. The team then took a win over Johnson C. Smith, but fell to Fayetteville State. The Lady Rams would close out the day on a high note, however, taking a win over Livingstone.
Following the three-day meet, the Lady Rams improve to 23-7 overall and 23-7 in CIAA play. Currently, the team is second in the CIAA Southern Division behind leader Fayetteville State. The Lady Rams will hit the road for their next action as they head to the CIAA North/South Round-Up on February 8th in Richmond, Va.
