CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (28-24, 24-15 CIAA) bowling completed another tough day at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) North/South Bowling Meet, Saturday. The Lady Rams finished the day with a 2-3 record against teams from the CIAA Northern Division.
The Lady Rams recovered from some early struggles to close out the day on a high note on the second day of team match play. The team struggled early with three straight losses. The team opened the day with a 754-877 loss to Virginia State, followed by a 730-924 loss to Bowie State, and an 830-886 loss to Elizabeth City State. After recording 908 pins in a bye match, the Lady Rams finished the day strong with a pair of wins. The team began their strong finish with a clutch 774-738 win over Chowan and finished the day with an 860-813 win over Virginia Union.
As a team, the Lady Rams totaled 5,056 pins and finished team match play with 9,870 total pins. For the two days, WSSU sophomore Tia Edgerton led the way for the Lady Rams with 2,149 total pins and averaged 179.08 pins in team match play.
