DURHAM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (49-48) ended their 2013-14 season, Saturday afternoon when the team took a pair of losses in the double-elimination round of the 2014 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Bowling Championship Tournament. After going 2-3 in Baker games play to earn a fifth-seed in the double-elimination tournament, the Lady Rams took a pair of losses to end their season.
The Lady Rams opened the day with an impressive 587-433 win over Saint Augustine's and followed the effort with an equally impressive 676-649 win over Virginia State. However, things got tough for the team as they finished out Baker games play with losses to Bowie State (632-457), Virginia Union (520-514), and Elizabeth City State (667-543).
With the 2-3 effort in Baker games and an 0-5 record in yesterday's team match play, the Lady Rams earned a fifth-seed in the double-elimination round of the tournament. The team opened tournament play against a familiar foe when they fell to #4 Elizabeth City State 4-0 in Baker games. The team then ended their season when they took a 4-1 loss to #7 Virginia Union.
