2012: Britney stepped up once again for the Lady Rams, but had to battle through a late season injury…She played in 36 games with 36 starts at second base for the Lady Rams…She finished the season batting .309 for the season with 10 RBI and a home run…She also recorded 75 putouts with 42 assists and just six fielding errors…For her efforts, she was named to the All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) team for the second straight season.

2011: Played in all 41 games for the Lady Rams at second base…She was one of the team’s top players both on offense and on defense for the team…She finished the season batting .313 with 39 RBI and a pair of home runs…She also added 27 runs scored…Defensively, she finished the season with 79 putouts and 43 assists with just seven fielding errors…For her efforts, she was named to the 2012 All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) team for the first time.

2010: Britney made an immediate impact on the Lady Rams, earning a starting spot on the WSSU infield as a true freshman…She was one of the top players on the team both on offense and defense…For the season, she finished the 2010 season with a .309 batting average, tying for second on the team…She led the team with a .472 on-base percentage…She added a pair of doubles and a home run…Defensively, Cato was a top notch player…She posted a .951 fielding percentage and 75 put outs and 42 assists…For her efforts, she earned a spot on the NCAA Division I All-Independent first team.

Personal: Britney will join the Lady Rams softball squad as a member of a large, talented class of newcomers this fall…She is a talented player from Shadow Ridge High School in Las Vegas, Nevada…She was a leader on a great Mustang team that won three Sunset Regional Championships from 2007-09 and Sunset Divisional Championships in 2008 and 2009…She was a second team all-conference player in 2008 and 2009 and was named team MVP in 2009…She also took home the Coaches’ Award in 2008…Britney is no stranger to success as her Mustang team posted a 25-4 record from 2005-09 with head coach Cynthia Winter…Britney is a Sports Management major and is the daughter of Jayme Brown and Keefe Cato…Her father was a former baseball player at Fairfield University.
