2012: Brittany had another phenomenal season though she missed nearly half of it…She finished the season with a 13-6 overall record and a 7-1 record in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play…After missing the first portion of the season, Lane finished strong totaling 112 strikeouts with just 28 walks allowed…She also threw a perfect game in a win over the Saint Augustine’s Lady Falcons in Raleigh, N.C….Lane finished the season with first team All-CIAA honors for the second straight season…Her shining moment of the season came when she pitched the Lady Rams to their second straight CIAA Championship, including pitching all 13 innings of a 4-3 extra-innings win over Chowan to stay alive in the 2012 CIAA Softball Championship Tournament…The effort was a part of seven straight pitching wins in the tournament. 

2011: Brittany solidified her place as one of the best pitchers in school history with a dynamic sophomore season that saw her dominate the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA)….She posted a 16-7 overall record and led the team with 218 strikeouts…For the season, she pitched 169.0 innings and totaled a 2.03 ERA for the season…She also allowed just 161 total hits and just 29 walks…For the season, she recorded 10 shutout wins and has just two wild pitches…As a batter, she recorded a .216 batting average with 27 RBI…She also a three-for-four effort on stolen bases...For the season, she earned first team All-CIAA honors.

2010: Brittany made an immediate impact on the Lady Rams, becoming the team’s ace pitcher as a true freshman…In addition to stepping in as one of the team’s top defensive players, she was also a key batter in the WSSU lineup…As a pitcher, Brittany stepped into to fill a void for the Lady Rams right away…She posted a 7-17 pitching record...She led the team with a 4.13 earned run average (ERA)…She also led the team with 147 strikeouts…Offensively, she was the team’s leadoff batter and posted a .221 batting average with a .290 on-base percentage…She added a pair of doubles with four RBI…For her efforts, she was named WSSU Team MVP.

Personal: Britney will join the Lady Rams softball team in the fall of 2009 when she will be a member of a large and talented cast of newcomers to the WSSU squad…She is a gifted athlete who earned numerous honors at Greenbriar Christian Academy…She earned Player of the Year honors, Rookie of the Year honors, was named conference MVP, and earned a spot on the All-Tidewater team…She is a Nursing major and is the daughter of James and Renee O’Shea.
