2012: Nikki had another great season for the Lady Rams as she made her case for one of the top players in the program’s history as well…She was the only member of the team to play in all 51 games with 51 starts…She finished the 2012 season with a team-high .421 batting average and a team-high three home runs…She also added a team-high 47 RBI…For the second straight season, she earned All-CIAA honors.
2011: Nikki had a great sophomore season for the Lady Rams as the team’s cornerstone at the third base position…She started all 42 games for the Lady Rams either at third base or at the catcher position…She finished the season with a .369 batting average with 28 RBI and tied the team lead with three home runs…As a defender, she was one of the team’s top players with 70 total putouts and 65 assists...She only recorded eight fielding errors for the season as well...For her efforts, she earned first team All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) honors as well.
2010: Nikki made an immediate impact on the Lady Rams’ team…She earned a starting spot at third base as a true freshman…Her defensive abilities were so stellar that she started in all 36 games at third base…For the season, she posted a .910 fielding percentage with only 11 errors…She was also a part of seven of the team 17 double plays turned…Offensively, she finished the season with a .184 batting average…She added four doubles…She also led the team with six stolen bases.
Personal: Latoya will join the WSSU infield this season and will have a chance to give the team some needed depth on the infield after a talented class of seniors graduated last spring…Lynch will have the opportunity to help the Lady Rams right away…She is a talented three-sport athlete from E.A. Laney High School in Wilmington, N.C. …During her career, she earned numerous honors, including being named to the all-conference team in softball, basketball, and volleyball…She earned softball all-conference honors twice, volleyball all-conference honors three times, and basketball all-conference honors three times…She was also named the E.A. Laney Female Athlete of the Year…She is a Nursing major at WSSU and is the daughter of Fred and Paulette Lynch.
