HIGH POINT, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams saw some great performances on the second day of the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by nearby High Point University. The Lady Rams relay teams put on a pair of great team performances while senior Kristi Baptiste and junior Tajanel McNeil gave great individual efforts at the meet.
The Lady Rams relay team stole the show when the 4x100m relay team placed second in the event with a 47.43 in the event. Only NCAA Division I Duke ran a faster time at the meet while the Lady Rams left teams from Gardner-Webb, Belmont Abbey, and Concord in their wake. The unit wasn't done as the WSSU 4x400m relay team placed fourth in their event with a 3:56.33.
Individually, McNeil continued her stellar career when she placed second in the women's triple jump with a 38'10.5" (11.85m) leap. She wasn't done as she placed third in the women's long jump with a 19'6.25" (1.7m) leap. Senior Kristi Baptiste led the way on the track for the Lady Rams when she placed fourth in the women's 400m run with a 56.61.
