ALLENDALE, MI – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams 4x100m relay team earned a spot in the finals of the 2014 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet, Thursday. The team earned the spot when ran a 46.41 to place tied for sixth place in the preliminaries of the event.
With the spot, the Lady Rams will earn a spot in the event finals, Saturday. The Lady Rams' time tied with New Mexico Highland. The Lady Rams' extended time was 46.601 while New Mexico Highlands' time was 46.403.
Senior sprinter Kristi Baptiste placed 21st in the women's 400m dash. She ran a 57.54 in the preliminary round of the event.
The Lady Rams will return to action Saturday afternoon at 5:20 p.m. in the finals of the event. WSSU junior triple jumper Tajanel McNeil will compete tomorrow at 4:45 p.m.
